Alone, Lonely and Loneliness

Blog

“The loneliest moment in someone’s life is when they are watching their whole world fall apart, and all they can do is stare blankly.”

            ~ F. Scott Fitzgerald

“A season of loneliness and isolation is when the caterpillar gets its wings. Remember that next time you feel alone.”

            ~ Mandy Hale

“Loneliness adds beauty to life. It puts a special burn on sunsets and makes night air smell better.”

            ~ Henry Rollins

“Sometimes the worst place you can be is in your own head.”

            ~ Christina Feist-Helmeier

Feeling lonely once in a while is normal. Right now we must remember it is a human response to the uncertainty around us. If you are feeling alone or lonely you are not alone! We are all feeling it one way or another. Right now it is difficult to find a balance that we can thrive in. When we strive to find a balance of alone, virtual connection, self-care, reflection, acceptance and compassion we can lower our anxiety and be kinder to ourselves. Our kindness can lower the bar of expectation of ourselves and of others. It’s about finding a new normal in so many different ways! Fear and anxiety of the unknown is what we are currently living and it is expected that we may feel alone or lonely.

The hardest days we struggle through will make us stronger. So it is okay to feel uncertain in uncertain times and that might include loneliness. Just know we will find a new normal and thrive once more.
