Control (Part One)!

Blog

“When you let go of control and commit yourself to happiness, it is so easy to offer compassion and forgiveness. This propels you from the past, into the present.”

~ Shannon Alder

“You can’t manipulate people who know how to think for themselves.”

~ Trish Mercer

“If you can’t control your peanut butter, you can’t expect to control your life.”

~ Bill Watterson

“All I can control is myself and just keep having a positive attitude.”

~ Rose Namajunas

A leader that embraces control has people who follow them and not simply work for them.  Leadership control means leading people, change, innovation, growth and social responsibility!

Leadership Control, in general, is a method or mannerism used to guide the operations of an agency.   Within leadership control are the processes and procedures that regulate, guide and protect the organization.

In the coming weeks the blog will explore control in the context of leadership.  I suggest that leadership control can make or break any organization and it is critical to define self-control and how it will or won’t affect leadership.

Consider the concepts of restraint, influence, authority, power, regulation, conduct, responsibility, inspiration, motivation, manipulation, boundaries, actions, function, method, governance, guidance, oversight, stewardship and goals!  And at the same time consider your own self-control and what you bring to leadership control.  Do you own your leadership control?
