“You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes, and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins.”

            ~  Jim Stovall

“We are not a team because we work together, we are a team because we respect, trust and care for each other.”

            ~ Vala Alfshar

“You add value to people when you value them.”

I suspect for most of us the current Olympic coverage has heightened our awareness of the aspects of team!  It has prompted me to reflect on the people, throughout my career, that I spent the most time with.  A Staff Team.   Early in my career I struggled with how to be myself and yet strong and decisive for the good of the agency.   I found the secret, it was not what I did, it was how I did it!   I was able to keep my core principles, kindness and caring, and be a leader who could carry out some very difficult decisions and actions.

The Staff Team can make or break a change for any organization.  As a leader it is a critical responsibility to help your staff team feel valued and part of the process.  We all know that ‘the staff team’ can have and will have issues and concerns.  Providing them the right time, right place and the right process is essential to their success in any change project.   As individuals, as a team, their contributions are the only thing that will make change happen!

BMG has extensive experience in working with you to co-design a change process. We believe that every organization needs and deserves the time and processes to create an inclusive outcome!  BMG is prepared to provide a co-designed structure, an inclusive partnership and an engaging process to ensure a positive outcome.
