Barnes Management Group joins people across Canada celebrating Black History Month to honour the history and legacy of Black Canadians and their communities and to recognize the everyday contributions that Black Canadians make to Canada.
The 2022 theme for Black History Month is ‘February and Forever: Celebrating Black History today and every day’, which focuses on recognizing the daily contributions that Black Canadians make to Canada.
Barnes Management Group recognizes and observes Black History Month as a time to honour, amplify and profile the history and voices of Black peoples and their communities.
Anti-Black racism and other forms of hate remain deeply entrenched in our society, and we, at BMG, stand against it and will continue to do our part to address this critical issue.
We recognize that the impacts of systemic oppression and disparity exist in the sectors we serve and will ensure we integrate the principles of equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging within the work we do with our partners and within our organization.
We remind ourselves that although February is a time in the calendar to mark Black History Month – we acknowledge our responsibility and obligation to honour this every day.
Today and always, we stand with the Black, African, and Caribbean communities in solidarity.
