“Every time you are tempted to react in the same old way ask if you want to be a prisoner of the past or a pioneer of the future.”
~ Deepak Chopra
“I saw the world in black and white instead of the vibrant colours and shades I knew existed.”
~ Katie McGarry
“The only way to discover the limits of possible is to go beyond them into the impossible.”
~ Arthur Clarke
In the past few weeks, as I go about my usual routines, I find myself being pushed into the ‘holidays’ ahead. And I find myself resenting it! I also thought, my resentment needs reframing. And on second thought … what a great opportunity to look at the concept of being pushed!
In a leadership role we are often pushed to the limit, pushed beyond our limits, and subject to a general push from all sides. Pushing yourself means trying to do something to the very best of your ability. Pushing yourself means not stopping till you reach where you want to go. Pushing yourself often takes your own inspiration to take you to action. Pushing yourself means not stopping until all is exhausted. Pushing yourself means taking on new, harder challenges to do bigger and better things.
As I reframe my resentment, I’ve come to know that a push doesn’t have to mean out of my control. Perhaps our reactions to everything is a push in the right direction for the right reasons. Give it some thought the next time you feel pushed.
