“Learn to be what you are, and learn to resign with a good grace all that you are not.”
~ Henri Frederic Amjel
Although the so-called, big disguise day is upon us, I personally feel that being your genuine self, with no disguise, works best! In the early days of my leadership journey, I struggled with being myself, a kind and compassionate woman and a strong and confident woman all at once! Being true to myself and true to my leadership responsibilities gave me the opportunity to be a gentle and strong leader. I found loyalty and trust because of my true self.
A commitment of leadership is all about the ability to lead with integrity and kindness even in the most difficult situations. Let’s face it, leadership has the challenge of finding what’s fair and what’s best for the organization and the greater good in all actions. Tough decisions are part of the job. Once again, it is not what you do but how you do it. Treat others the way you would want to be treated! Just a few genuine and well-learned commitments to a gentle yet strong leadership.
