“What’s done is done. What’s gone is gone. One of life’s lessons is always moving on. It’s okay to look back to see how far you’ve come but keep moving forward.”
~ Roy T. Bennett
“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”
~ Walt Disney
“Stay positive and happy. Work hard and don’t give up hope. Be open to criticism and keep learning. Surround yourself with happy, warm and genuine people.”
~ Tena Desae
“We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future.”
~ George Bernard Shaw
This is the time of year when many of us look back, reflect on the moments passed and perhaps dwell too long in our past. Yet, it can be a time to see how far we have come. And it is the time to recognize that the past belongs in the past. It is the time, for all of us, to enter a new year with hope and confidence.
I believe there is always hope! Hope that things will be different. Hope that things will be better. I believe that hope enables us to be open and graceful in the face of uncertainty and change. And I believe change begins in our ability to leave the past behind and think forward to a changing future.
It takes courage to look back and think forward. That courage feeds our spirit. Looking forward with an open mind brings endless possibilities. And we must remember without hope to inspire change, positive impacts would not be possible.
