I remember my first ‘boss’ and how I WASN’T going to be like him if I ever had the chance to be a ‘boss’. Thankfully the “boss” role has evolved and leadership is now a much-improved role with much more dimension. I’m grateful to have learned many lessons in that first job and many jobs thereafter.
Gratefully, along my way, I had thoughtful mentorship. One of the most important lessons was to remember and always honour the past regardless of what organization I stepped into. A thoughtful leader will learn the past, make room for the present and create a collective future.
