It is very important to generate a good attitude, a good heart, as much as possible. From this, happiness in both the short term and the long term for both yourself and others will come.
~ Dalai Lama
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.”
~ Anthony Robbins
This week I am going to tell you about our friend, colleague and BMG Management Consultant Yarith Ker.
Yarith was born in Cambodia. His family immigrated to Canada 20 years ago and he came to Canada 16 years ago. Yarith attended University in Montreal. He and his family escaped the political instability in Cambodia, at that time, and in his words ‘made a good move to Canada.’ Yarith arrived after his family had settled. Yarith comes from an educated family, a family involved in education and politics. His family was down to earth and imparted good family values.
Those close family beginnings stay fast in his heart! Yarith made a commitment to his post secondary education and then began a career in finance. From the traditions of finance, Yarith pressed on into the arts where he managed, co-produced and contributed to innovative film projects. He travelled the world! Yet something in his heart was missing. The connections to people. Yarith states, ‘I love people, I love to connect with people, I wanted my work to have people connections.’
Yarith had the good fortune to cross paths with David Barnes. BMG had the good fortune to have Yarith find a place to bring his heart to his work. Yarith brings his heart to BMG and with that he influences the values of BMG in all ways.
Yarith holds a key position at BMG. A position that expects work/life balance, influences concepts, voices innovative ideas, prompts future thinking, models the freedom to be a leader, applies a passionate work commitment, believes in the goal to give back and reveals social impact. Yarith brings his heart to his work at BMG, a good heart and good intentions that influence the success of the firm.
Yarith is often the face and voice of the core team and office. When all of us are distracted or not present in our BMG moments, he is always there, always ready to greet each and every person with a smile. Yarith is one good heart of many at BMG that interfaces with associates, clients, government, potential clients, social media connections and so much more.
