“I wonder what it would be like to live in a world where it was always June.”
~ L. M. Montgomery
“Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.”
~ John Ruskin
“I’m glad it’s finally hot enough to complain about how hot it is.”
~ Anonymous
“Live in the sunshine. Swim in the sea. Drink in the wild air.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Summer is cranking up the heat! We can’t beat the heat, but we can find ways to co-exist! Maybe it is a time to slow down … walk a little slower, be mindful of your time, stop tying yourself in a pretzel for everyone else, and simply think summer! Embrace the heat. Is there anything better than a perfect summer’s day? In my summer I think swimming, a cool breeze by the lake, a slow paddle on the river, a cottage in the woods, fresh salad and fruit, lots of water, and the odd gelato. As we experience the effects of climate change, (heat, rain, wind) we can still find a co-existence to the new normal of summer days.
Take the time, in a cool spot, to think about your story, what summer means, and how to embrace the different kinds of summer days.
