Acceptance

Blog

“Accept – then act. Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. Always work with it, not against it.”

            ~ Eckhart Tolle

“No regrets … just lessens. No worries … just acceptance. No expectations … just gratitude.”

            ~ Unknown

“Have courage enough to accept what you can not change, but yet courageous enough to stand up and fight for what you can.”

            ~ Robert M. Hensel

“Acceptance doesn’t mean resignation:  it means understanding that something is what it is and that there’s got to be a way through it.”

            ~ Michael J. Fox

It is what it is! (I take ownership for using that statement when I am working through acceptance). Acceptance means acknowledging circumstances and reality. Allowing acceptance to be present becomes a way to process what we have acknowledged. Acceptance doesn’t mean we have to like whatever it is we are trying to accept. Giving in doesn’t mean giving up! And it doesn’t mean not working on making change!

The struggle to acceptance often creates uneasiness and stress. Acceptance starts with self. It is a willingness to believe and hope that things can get better. Acceptance can challenge us to create an even more meaningful and significant outcome. Acceptance offers new understanding and wisdom to find solutions.

“For after all, the best thing one can do when it is raining, is to let it rain.”

            ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
