Fiona Douglas is a Master of Social Work (MSW) candidate with an Honours BASc in Community and Social Services and a Social Service Worker diploma. For more than ten years, Fiona has focused her work on supporting children, youth, and women, particularly those impacted by gender-based violence and human trafficking.

She has experience working in child and adolescent mental health, frontline advocacy, and program leadership. She has planned and facilitated trainings on sexual exploitation and human trafficking in Canada. Most recently, she moved into Program Management, overseeing six programs, including residential, outreach, case management, and clinical supports.

Fiona has truly enjoyed working in both frontline and management roles, as they allow her to stay grounded in lived experience while contributing to stronger programs, teams, and systems. She has a strong interest in community-based research, policy development, and ethical storytelling that centres lived experience, and is excited to contribute these interests to Barnes Management Group’s work in social development and equity.
