“Balance is not better time management, but better boundary management. Balance means making choices and enjoying those choices.”
~ Betsy Jacobson
I hope the long weekend lightened your heart. Years ago I learned to ‘download’ (fancy word for making a list) the day before the weekend, a vacation or long weekend. This simple process would allow me to put away work and truly enjoy my days off. It set my priorities for when I returned to my desk and allowed me to unplug while I was away. It was an uncomplicated process that brought balance to my life. If you are finding it difficult to balance the different elements of your life, you are not alone. We all feel overloaded.
Work-life balance means something different to every individual and it is worth your while to explore what it means to you. The actual aspects of your work are only one element of your life! Don’t forget self-care. Mind, body, and soul are necessary parts of overall balance! It is possible to achieve a healthy work/life balance! And it is possible for everyone to mentor and model a productive and positive work/life balance. It is transformational to explore your own balance and find uncomplicated ways to achieve that balance. When we are balanced and productive the rewards are enormous in every element of our lives.
