Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls – May 5, 2021

Publications

Hundreds of donated red dresses have been displayed in public spaces across Canada, including the Canadian Museum of Human Rights.

May 5 is National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) in Canada.

We acknowledge the 231 calls for justice directed at all governments, sectors, and people in society in the “Reclaiming Power and Place” contained in the final report on the National Inquiry. We encourage you to familiarize yourselves with these calls for justice and do what you can to bring awareness to this issue and to support survivors and their families.

Please take some time to learn about the scope of the issue and underlying causes by reading the Summary of the final report on the National Inquiry into MMIWG, at the link below.
