“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.”
~ L. M. Montgomery
“You don’t waste October sunshine. Soon the old autumn sun would bed down in cloud blankets, and there would be weeks of gray rain before it finally decided to snow.”
~ Katherine Arden
“In October any wonderful, unexpected thing might be possible.”
~ Elizabeth George Speare
“And the sun took a step back, the leaves lulled themselves to sleep, and Autumn was awakened.”
~ Raquel France
Simply October! October holds the distinction of ushering in cooler weather. However, October also gives unexpected chances to grab a few more minutes of the warm sun. Today I was able to grab not only the warm sun but a perfect patio for lunch with a friend. And, most important, the opportunity to be grateful for the simple gifts of October.
October is the perfect month to acknowledge and welcome change. An opportunity to be positive about change, and to adjust and adapt to the changes that life throws. Change as simple as the weather or as complex as the profound challenges we experience. I’m grateful for the simple things in my life! I am keenly aware to not take the simple things for granted, like a warm sweater, socks, a favorite scarf, and friends to share October with. Might I suggest that we all welcome October and the simple gifts it offers, be grateful and never take the gifts for granted.
“Leaves fall and the spirit soars.”
