“The past is behind, learn from it. The future is ahead, prepare for it. The present is here, live.”

“There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page and closing the book.”

“We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future.”
~ George Bernard Shaw
“Don’t’ let yesterday use up too much of today.”
~ Will Rogers
The Past is the Past … or is it? For an organization embracing change the past is an important knowledge transfer opportunity. A wise leader will know that the past will haunt any change if it is not heard and reflected in the present and the future. However, heard and reflected have their limits and a compassionate and thoughtful leader will find language and actions to acknowledge the past, turn the pages and close the book.
For every organization the past dwells in every room, so to speak. The past lives through governance and operations. I believe ‘the past’ is watching and will be critical of the way you treat it. If you are to lead a positive and inclusive change, the past needs to be a critical part of that change.
BMG believes that every change has a role for the past. BMG is prepared to participate in a co-designed process to bring appropriate closure to the past while you embraced the responsibility of the future.
