“Sometimes you have to forget what’s gone. Appreciate what still remains. And look forward to what’s coming next.”

            ~ Will Smith

“We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

            ~ Walt Disney

“Worrying is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but it doesn’t get you anywhere.”

            ~ Van Wilder

“In our lives, change is unavoidable, loss is unavoidable. In the adaptability and ease with which we experience change, lies our happiness and freedom.”

            ~ Buddha

I’m not suggesting this is not a tough time to be positive and hopeful! In fact, the constant bombardment of bad news and scary realities is anything but remotely hopeful right now.

However, I am suggesting that each of us needs to dig deep and find the gifts along the way. Everyone is overwhelmed! And that’s okay! Let’s use the strengths and skills we possess to find our future. Draw on our inner strength! All leadership skills are applicable to an external disaster! Especially our response! Adapt to change, be creative in tough times, be grateful for what is, express honest and genuine care and kindness, be fair, lead by example and most importantly look after yourself first! Then be supportive to others.

We are all in this together! Reach out and keep thoughtful communication with friends, family and colleagues! Together we will accomplish the future!
