“This was why she enjoyed baking. A good dessert could make her feel like she’d created joy at the tips of her fingers. Suddenly, the people around the table were no longer strangers. They were friends and confidantes, and she was sharing with them her magic.”
~ Marissa Meyer
“Life is all about sharing. If we are good at something, pass it on.”

“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.”
~ Pablo Picasso
I recently had the occasion to reunite with family! It was a time to remember the past, to inform the present, to indulge in reflection and to grasp the nostalgia of our younger days! All fueled by a strong emotional reaction to a simple cookie. In my family gatherings the shared incentive was, and is, our Mom’s Oatmeal, date filled cookies. I’m the keeper of the recipe, in her handwriting, and I am forever grateful for her joy of baking and the gifts she left us. My family drifted apart in the past few years, like so many others, however the sharing of a simple cookie immediately bridged the gap.
Every version of ‘family’ has a cookie! I suggest that everyone has a gift to find and to then to share. How can you find your gift and find the joy of giving it away. What’s in a cookie?
“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in our hearts.”
~ Winnie the Pooh
