“Acceptance and tolerance and forgiveness, those are life-altering lessons.”

“The truth is, unless you let go, unless you forgive yourself, unless you forgive the situation, unless you realize that the situation is over, you cannot move forward.”
~ Steve Maraboli
“When you find peace within yourself, you become the kind of person who can live at peace with others.”
~ Peace Pilgrim
Sadly, or fortunately, we have many chances to practice acceptance, to hone the art of letting go and to put the past in an altered space. In challenging or joyous times … acceptance is the same! It is about facing the reality of any situation and choosing what to do with that reality. We have the choice to move through all that comes with reality and then be ready to accept, let go, and free up space for a new perspective while engaging a focused energy for change and positive action. We often need to own our part before we can let go. When we let go, we improve our well-being and capture our resilience. Acceptance is about getting to YOUR options as opposed to living with the imposed options of someone or something else. Self-acceptance is an essential part of letting go. Clearing the baggage isn’t easy, takes time and what feels like endless work but well worth the compassion and kindness to self.
“Acceptance doesn’t mean that life gets better; it just means that my way of living life on life’s terms improves.”
~ Sharon E. Rainey
