Today’s blog is from our Archives, June 9th, 2021.
“At the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair should be messy and your eyes sparkling.”
~ F. Henti
“I’ve come to the realization that I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing half the time.”
~ David Bowie
“But I’d rather help than watch. I’d rather have a heart than a mind. I’d rather expose too much than too little. I’d rather say hello to strangers than be afraid of them. I would rather know all this about myself than have more money than I need.”
I’m winging it today! The gloom of the muggy and cloudy days has set into my soul. We all experience less than inspiring days. And as I’ve said many times, it’s what you do with gloomy days that counts. So, I pulled out my daily reading, dug deep and at the very least found gratitude for the comforts in my home, the cool air forced around my shoulders, the good coffee in my cup and the ability to wing it one more day.
Regardless of how I feel today I am still responsible for how I act and with some thoughtful effort I can bring you this blog. Success is the sum of all efforts and not just about today. A small, positive, thoughtful effort means that progress adds up everyday. Even on our shakiest days we can stumble across our strengths. We all have ‘not so great days’ but when we dig deep, we can find something good in everyday.
At the end of this day, I dug deep and stayed true to my responsibility, and I did find the sparkle in my eyes. Maybe you can’t put every moment into words. But I suggest that every day and every moment will teach us what we need to know if we let it.
