“It is the nature of grace to fill the places that have been empty.”
~ Goethe
“Even in the familiar there can be surprise and wonder.”
~ Tierney Gearon
“If you are ready to accept things as they are, you will receive them as old friends, even though you appreciate them with new feeling.”
~ Shunryu Suzuki
“Sometimes your heart needs more time to accept what your mind already knows.”
~ Unknown
It’s one thing to make a change under somewhat usual circumstance but quite another to accept a change that has been out of your control. I’m sure I am not the only one that has struggled with this reality in the past few years. It has taken the better part of the past year to accept that significant things are gone. And I found myself waiting for them to return and it began to feel uncomfortable in that waiting.
Change is hard. And making a significant effort to embrace the positive aspects of that change is even harder yet key to finding the familiarity in the new and uncertain. Familiarity is often the comfort our body, mind, and soul needs. However, change and transitions can cause discomfort. It’s often necessary to step outside of a current comfort to be truly honest and happy and ready to embrace change.
Just because things change doesn’t mean there can’t be familiar comforts in new ways with new feelings!
