~ Marie Curie
“In every crisis, doubt or confusion, take the higher path – the path of compassion, courage, understanding and love.”

“The struggle you’re in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. Don’t give up.”

I’m feeling down, I’m feeling sad! It could be the lack of spring weather, the lack of much-needed warmth and sunshine. Or it could have no specific reason at all. However, for me, right now, everywhere I look or listen I see and feel the sadness in the world. The many crises internationally, nationally, regionally, in my neighbourhood and in my community. I’m feeling the weight of it. I feel in my heart for the heavy loads that so many people are carrying through the crisis that they are living!
It’s ok to feel sad! It’s essential to notice and acknowledge sadness! The reason for sadness is not always obvious, the feeling can go as quickly as it has shown up, or it can linger. Sadness is undoubtedly part of life. Awareness of sadness can prompt positive change. When we notice our sadness, that awareness can slow us down, make us think, clarify reality, prompt thoughtful gratitude, and encourage us to adapt, accept, discover a path, and grow. In addition to sadness, we have plenty of emotions that provide opportunities to be mindful of self-care, to live in the present, and to manage emotions to a better path ahead.
“Even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise.”
~ Les Misérables
