One Day at a Time!

“One breath, one moment, one day at a time.”

“Life is simply a collection of little lives, each lived one day at a time.”

           ~ Nicholas Sparks

“Take it all one day at a time and enjoy the journey.”

           ~ Kristi Bartlett

“I live one day at a time. I dream one dream at a time. Yesterday’s dead, and tomorrow is blind. And I live one day at a time.”

           ~ Joan Baez

It takes but a moment to stop and ponder life.  Perhaps something or someone triggers a pause.  At times that trigger is long overdue.  It’s easy to rush along, embracing the urgency of life, until something triggers a pause that forces us into the present and the chance to enjoy the moments we are living.  But should we be relying on a chance pause when we can embrace a deliberate practice to live one day at a time?

There can be many positive outcomes to living one day at a time.  Seizing each day as it comes enriches life and offers the joys of the present moments.  The pause allows time to embrace the positives, acknowledge achievements, honour ourselves and worry less about our challenges.  A day-to-day mindset can leave the past behind and ease the constant stress of creating the future.  It can be as simple as a focus on the now, paying attention, practicing kindness, observing gratitude, and worrying less.  As simple as wanting better health ~ emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.  I’m not suggesting an easy path but one well worth the effort to live one day at a time.
