Sights and Sounds

Blog

“We are homesick for places, we are reminded of places, it is the sounds and smells and sights of places which haunt us and against which we often measure our present.”

            ~ Alan Gussow

“Each year I discover new sights and sounds to teach me how blind and deaf I must still be.”

            ~ Louis J. Halle

“When I make the effort to pay attention to the sights, sounds and sensations around me, I’m encouraging myself to live in the present moment.”

            ~ Deepak Chopra

There are sights and sounds that come with every experience.  Sights and sounds that have memories that inspiring wishful thinking!  I find that sights and sounds feel more obvious right now.  It may be the wonders of spring or perhaps the wonders of the new normal we are all beginning to live, in different ways.

Sights and sounds can be missing at times when we are needing to establish new directions.  Therefore, it is necessary to draw our attention and our emphasis to the wonders around us, the moments around us, and the sights and sounds around us.  Equally important is to stay open to all possibilities.  The surety of spring can make it easier to follow new paths while gathering new sights and sounds, living life, and making new memories.  Spring is a gentle reminded to be mindful about the thoughtful steps we must continue to make!

“The little things?  The little moments? They aren’t little.”
