Stay at Home

“There is nothing like staying at home for real comfort.”

“The ache for home lives in all of us.”

“Home is a shelter from storms – all sorts of storms.”

I find sadness in the mere words, ‘stay at home.’  I fully recognize my privilege to have a home that is warm, safe, comfortable, and truly a reflection of myself.  Has the concept of stay at home been considerably altered in the past few years?

My story begins as a child, on a farm, in a big snowstorm!  I was allowed to stay home, and huddle around the wood stove to keep warm.  It was a dream to stay home!  The storm had a silver lining!  The storm in the past few years has challenged all of us to be reflective about what we have and what we don’t have and how import any of it really is.

Perhaps we can turn our isolation and a stay at home into a chance to learn more about ourselves.  It’s also a time to get at things we’ve been meaning to do!  It is a time to inspire new ways and uncover new paths!  Time to embrace this consciousness, and to be more aware, compassionate, grateful, and fulfilled!
