“Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for.”
~ Maya Angelou
“Sometimes we just need to take a little time for ourselves.”

“It’s very important that we re-learn the art of resting and relaxing.”
~ Thick Nhat Hanh
I recently had the misfortune to end up off my feet and locked down at home. It felt that locked down was my only option of language to explain how I felt. And the familiar feeling arrived like a bad storm. Fast and Furious! And when left to my own solitary company I could only feel devastation coming. AGAIN!
With a determined intent I began to grasp the difference between a day off and an off day. And rather than dive into despair, I looked ahead to a day away, a day for myself, a day to do only what I wanted to do. I needed hours of aimless wandering, warm companionship, sincere chatter, and a day away from the negative consequences of lockdown. I needed to gather vivid reminders of caring for myself and renew my spirit.
Everyone needs to take a day away! Everyone has their own need to get away and to take time to withdraw from all that won’t leave us. A day away that puts life in perspective and to find what brings a renewed ability to see and be grateful for all that encircles us while we live with what won’t leave us.
“Life moves pretty fast, if you don’t stop once in a while and look around, you might miss it.”
~ Ferris Bueller (John Hughes)
