BMG Introduces Placement Student, Jeevan Thomas

Publications

Barnes Management Group (BMG) is pleased to have four graduate students starting a placement with us this September. In his own words, we would like to introduce you to our first student, Jeevan Thomas.

My name is Jeevan Thomas. My pronouns are He/Him/His. I graduated from Ryerson University with a Bachelor of Social Work degree in 2019 and am currently working towards a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Windsor. I am currently employed at Native Child and Family Services of Toronto as a Transition House Worker. I am also a Crisis Hotline Volunteer with the Distress Centres of Greater Toronto. My current passions are around working with men and youth in regards to mental health. My motivations for becoming a social worker include my love for volunteering and my want to learn more about how to effectively support people and communities.

I am very excited for the opportunities that will arise from working with the incredible teams at BMG. I am looking forward to gaining knowledge around how to actively listen to the needs and desires of community members, how to assist and lead in policy development and implementation, supportive and critical program consultation and auditing strategies, and working in an interdisciplinary environment.

Welcome, Jeevan!
