“The truth is, time marches on and you have two choices: You move forward, come what may, and you experience all the sour and sweet things that fly at you from around corners, or you sit still. Don’t sit still.”
~ Suzanne Palmieri
“Don’t spend time beating on a wall, hoping to transform it into a door.”
~ Coco Chanel
“Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway.”
~ Earl Nightengale
I recently enjoyed an epic celebration of my niece’s 40th birthday! Nothing like a milestone to jolt you into a time warp! Where did that time go? We all think ‘if only I could live it over’ … when truly we need to be living in this moment.
Living in the moments of leadership requires the same skills to live in all our moments. Listen intently. See the positive. Face the challenges with grace. Be kind to yourself and others. Be conscious, aware and in the present. Bring all your senses to every situation. When you wander to the past or drift to an unknown future redirect your attention to the present. Work hard today and focus on the task ahead. Be self-aware. Reflect daily. Practice letting go. Practice compassion. Embrace the good and the bad moments. Be engaged. Set an example and encourage others to be present.
Time will march on! For all of us! With a mindful approach to leadership you can make the moments count!
