My name is Sherri Vouriot, and I am a social work professional with over a decade of frontline experience supporting Indigenous communities and individuals with complex mental health needs. My background includes child welfare, psychosocial rehabilitation, crisis intervention, and service coordination, with a strong emphasis on culturally responsive care and advocacy. I am passionate about equity, inclusion, and systems-level change, and I continue to grow my expertise through ongoing professional development and community engagement.
I hold an Honours Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work from Laurentian University, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Social Work for Working Professionals at the University of Windsor. I am a Certified Psychosocial Rehabilitation Practitioner and a registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Through this practicum with BMG, I am eager to expand my understanding of organizational development, strategic planning, and cross-sector collaboration. I am particularly interested in learning how consulting practices can support capacity building within communities and enhance service delivery across systems. Through this practicum, I hope to strengthen my ability to contribute to meaningful change, both at the individual and organizational levels.
