Fall Days!

“The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.”

            ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder

“I believe the nicest and sweetest days are not those on which anything very splendid or wonderful or exciting happens – but just those that bring simple pleasures.”

            ~ L. M. Montgomery

“The only difference between an extraordinary life and an ordinary one is the extraordinary pleasures you find in ordinary things.”

            ~ Veronique Vienne

I am keenly aware that the days of our lives are slowly coming and going in ways we could never have imagined. I have to remind myself that the simplicity of our days coming and going are full of simple pleasures despite the reality of the world. And yet it’s beginning to be incredibly easy to lose hope.

However, with purposeful intent, we can find hope in the simple pleasures of the fall season. To mention a few, the season brings crisp and clear days, an extra blanket, autumn apples, football, wood smoke in the air, sweaters, early stars, candles and soup. The simple pleasures of these fall days, embraced with self-awareness, are the gifts we can celebrate in our own unique way! Above all else, I encourage all of us to not miss the simplicity around us and what joy it can bring. Embrace the small things and find joy and gratitude!

“Here’s to the moments when you realize the simple things are wonderful and enough.”
