Tis the Season!

Blog

Today’s blog is from our archives, December 11th, 2019.

“No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”

            ~ Aesop

“A warm smile is the universal language of kindness.”

            ~ William Arthur Ward

“The difference between darkness and brightness is how you thrive on those moments and how you use such circumstances with goodwill in your spirit.”

            ~ Angelica Hopes

“Did I offer peace today? Did I bring a smile to someone’s face? Did I say words of healing? Did I let go of my anger and resentment? Did I forgive? Did I love? These are the real questions. I must trust that the little bit of love that I sow now will bear many fruits, here in this world and the life to come.”

            ~ Henri Nouwen

This is my usual December message.   Worth repeating again and again.  There is no doubt that anyone escapes the “Christmas Season!”   No matter your traditions or practices at this time of year it is near impossible to not get caught up in some of it.

However, regardless of all that swirls around us, and above all else, this time of year provides an opportunity to remind our spirit to practice goodwill and kindness to all.  Generous expressions and acts of kindness can calm a spirit and provide a time to quietly reflect.  Remember, you get what you put into it!

Goodwill doesn’t just apply to this time of year.  Find your generosity and your kind spirit!  Be genuine and thoughtful.  When you find such kindness in your heart and soul it won’t matter if it is ‘the season’ or not!
